NBA 2K25 Patch 5.0 Gets Major Fixes, Prepares for Season 5

NBA 2K25 has just been subjected to a consequential update with Patch 5.0. Long-requested trophy fixes, visual improvements, and important gameplay improvements have gone into this update. With players lining up for Season 5 launching on February 21, this update will help render a seamless experience further with proper fixes. Here's a proper look at what's been updated.

Fixes: Trophy Progression Issues Fixed

Such loyal players hunting 100% trophy completion may now heave a sigh of relief. Two prominent achievement-related glitches were rectified:

"Baaaaaaah!" (Play Now Online)

Issue: The GOAT League trophy progress was not tracked correctly by the game, claiming only 10% instead of the necessary 33% per season, rendering completion mathematically impossible.
Fix: Players will now receive 33% progress on the trophy for every season, thus enabling the achievement.

"World Tour" (MyTeam)

Issue: Exhibition matches in MyTeam were not counting towards the total your player needed to do, halting progress toward the achievement.
Fix: Exhibition games are tracked, and progress can now be made toward that 100 Exhibition Games completion.

Season 5: What Lies Ahead

Season 5 will develop from February 21 through 8 AM PT/11 AM ET, and the latest patch sets the stage for new content. Although details have yet to be divulged, earlier seasons point toward new rewards, themed events, and thrilling gameplay modes. Be sure to catch the official Season 5 trailer, which is slated for release later this week.

Miscellaneous Updates & Fixes

Visual and Audio Updates
  • Uniform Updates: Cavaliers, Pistons, Heat, Magic, and Jazz all feature lines with updated sponsor patches. The referees now also feature the official sponsor logo.
  • Updated Player Likeness: Updates to dynamic hair for Jaylen Brown, Jae Crowder, Gabby Williams, and Emily Engstler.
  • MyTeam Card Design: Galaxy Opal cards now feature a green rather than a gray base to keep them attractive and vibrant.

Stability Improvements and Performance Tweaks

  • Starting 5 multiplayer games crash and get disconnected less frequently now.
  • The City and Pro-Am game modes run with better visual fluidity and frame stability.

PC-Specific Fixes

Vertical Sync issue preventing some players from going into Starting 5 has been patched up to allow for smooth gameplay.

Community Awareness at 2K

Patch 5.0 does give credence to the spirited support from the players all throughout. The old issue surrounding trophies that many have been brooding from Season 1 onwards has been promptly taken to task in this aspect. Small yet impactful tweaks such as removing city background noise in the MyTeam's Breakout mode are thoughtful adaptations making for general improvements in the quality of life.

What's In Store?

In the name of Season 5, expect grounded challenges, sweet rewards, and insurmountable experiences for the gaming session that heralds the end of the year. Whether aspiring for a complete reign over MyTeam, working toward trophies, or kicking the tires in The W, this patch promises NBA 2K25's status as the leading professional basketball simulator.
