The Most Detested Character in Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals is building excitement for Season One, introducing three fresh maps, a brand-new Doom Match game mode, and four new heroes, including the Fantastic Four. Over 20 million players have joined since launch, and fans are still diving into the action-packed superhero PVP shooter to face off against Marvel's iconic heroes and villains.
With the new heroes, the game has provided more character options for players, which has motivated many to try new gameplay experiences by switching from their current main to something completely different, possibly quite different from the style of Mister Fantastic. Apart from the latest additions of characters, Marvel Rivals has also revealed its Hero Hot List, which is full of interesting information about the popularity of different heroes. The data shows not only mind-blowing trends but also the most selected hero so far.
Jeff the Land Shark is The Hero Dominating the Hot List
Yes, you heard that right Jeff the Land Shark has topped Marvel Rivals' Hero Hot List. Known for its unmatched strategic power, Jeff has emerged as a favorite among players, with a 21.18% pick rate. This puts it a solid 2% ahead of Venom, which has a 19.09% pick rate. With a game player base of 20 million, this means Jeff has been picked by an impressive 4.34 million players.
Although this might sound a bit shocking to some, it is rather impossible to deny Jeff's appeal. However, here is the kicker: there is another standout detail that should be noted
Jeff the Land Shark Is the Most Picked Character in Marvel Rivals
He had the highest pick rate among any hero in Hero Hot List and yet struggled immensely regarding win rates across competitive and quickplay. From what he could garner for PC, his win rates stood anywhere between 44.38 percent and 45.39 percent, ranking Jeff at or nearly at the end of the scale. In fact, Mantis tops the win rate list at 56.03 percent.
Notably, among the seven strategist characters, Jeff has the lowest win rate by a huge margin and is the only one to fail to reach the 50% threshold. However, Jeff's popularity is so high that the pool of data is big enough since people keep selecting him above others because of his apparent win gap.

If We Add The Win Rates to The Number of Players
Out of 4.34 million players who opted for Jeff the Land Shark, only 1.8 million were able to get a win, which leaves a surprisingly staggering 2.2 million without a win. This staggering gap is especially remarkable considering Jeff's early season advantages, which most players exploited early in the game.
