League of Legends Returns To Hextech Chests Following Backlash
In response to significant player demands, Riot Games is bringing back Hextech Chests into League of Legends. Once a common reward from milestones, Hextech Chests were shifted to select real money for purchase in the game's shop. Now, Riot has turned around, and the Hextech chests are going back into the new act system.
Why Hextech Chests Are Returning
Subject to the latest developer update with Meddler and Pabro from Riot, they addressed some ongoing player concerns. A huge response from the community indicated that they feel Hextech Chests are integral to rewards for players and changes should be made by Riot.
"We didn't entirely perceive how much this mattered to you. Therefore, Chests are coming back."-Pabro
Hextech Chests In Act 2-Important Points
- Availability: Live from Act 2 (next patch)
- How They Can Be Earned: Up to 10 Hextech Chests per Act
- 8 Chests & Keys from the free Pass (Seasonal & 1350 RP Skins Replacement)
2 Chests through the Honor System
- No playstyle restrictions: Offers open no matter what game mode or champion selected
- Standardized Loot Rates: Uniform chest rewards among all sources
Community Response & Future Updates
The change will now mean that League of Legends players will get randomized loot instead of dictated skins on a battle pass. While this is bound to make a few miss guaranteed skins, most prefer the variety provided by Hextech Chests. Riot's decision will ensure rewards remain accessible and engaging for all play styles.
Hence, Act 2 will be here next week, where players will finally be able to enjoy Hextech Chests again.
