Warzone's newest update features some key balance changes

Call of Duty Warzone update has today received its first new update since the beginning of Season 5 roughly one week ago. Upon the launch of Season 5, Warzone players were greeted with the return of Superstore, which is a hugely-popular POI from the battle royale game's past. Additionally, new weapons were brought into Warzone to spice up the meta a bit. Now, Activision is looking to make some changes to the various weapons in Warzone which will result in the meta shifting once again.

Call of Duty Warzone Update: Balance Changes and Bug Fixes

Call of Duty Warzone update has just received its first update since the launch of Season 5, bringing significant balance changes and minor bug fixes. One week into Season 5, players saw the return of the popular Superstore POI and the introduction of new weapons, which refreshed the game’s meta. This latest update continues to shake things up by tweaking several weapons and adding new functionalities.

Available for download across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, this Call of Duty Warzone update primarily focuses on weapon balance. The RAM-9, SUPERI 46, COR-45, and TYR have all received adjustments to fine-tune their performance. The Push Dagger now features a heavy swing melee option. Besides these changes, the update also addresses several bugs to enhance the overall gameplay experience in Warzone.

Weapon Adjustments in the Latest Update

The new Call of Duty Warzone update includes several weapon adjustments:

  • RAM-9: The Bruen Heavy Support Grip Underbarrel Attachment can no longer be equipped without a compatible barrel.
  • SUPERI 46: Max damage range decreased to 12.7 meters, and the mid-damage range has been removed. Minimum damage starts at 25.4 meters instead of 34.3 meters.
  • COR-45: Increased rate of fire to 450rpm, with adjustments to trigger actions to balance the changes.
  • TYR: Hel's Reach Short Barrel now has incompatible optic attachments removed.

Additionally, the Push Dagger now has a heavy swing melee functionality, and the B.E.A.S.T. Glove Blueprint includes a ragdoll effect for this feature.

Bug Fixes in the New Patch

This Call of Duty Warzone update also fixes several bugs to improve the Warzone experience:

  • Fixed an issue preventing players from seeing the scoreboard or stats tab when opening the Tac-Map.
  • Resolved a tracking issue with the third Warzone Rewards Mobility challenge.
  • Fixed the Warzone Rewards submenu update issue after completing the Resurgence Champion's Quest challenge.
  • Addressed the activation issue of armory unlocks for tactical and lethal equipment.

  • Customization: Corrected the categorization of base Camos for the STG44 and Static-HV Weapons.

WARZONE

  • Weapons:
    • Submachine Guns:
      • RAM-9: Bruen Heavy Support Grip Underbarrel Attachment is no longer able to be equipped without a compatible Barrel.
      • SUPERI 46: Max Damage Range decreased to 12.7 meters, down from 13.97. Mid Damage Range removed. Min Damage of 25 now starts at 25.4 meters instead of 34.3 meters.
    • Handguns:
      • COR-45: Increased rate of fire to 450rpm, up from 240rpm. XRK TR9 Trigger Action rate of fire penalty decreased to -15%, down from -25%. XRK Lightning Fire Trigger Action rate of fire benefit decreased to 22%, down from 25%.
    • Melee:
      • PUSH DAGGER: Added heavy swing melee functionality. B.E.A.S.T. Glove Blueprint now has a ragdoll effect with the heavy swing melee functionality.
  • Bug Fixes:
    • Fixed an issue preventing players from seeing the scoreboard or stats tab when opening the Tac-Map.
    • Fixed an issue preventing the third Warzone Rewards Mobility challenge from tracking properly.
    • Fixed an issue preventing the Warzone Rewards submenu from updating properly after completing the Resurgence Champion's Quest challenge.
    • Fixed an issue preventing players from activating the armory unlocks for tactical and lethal equipment.
