First Update After Reaching 2 Million Players
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has already made a huge impact for Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, surpassing 2 million players on its first day.
While many of these players are longtime Warhammer fans, the game also attracted new players thanks to its popularity on Steam wishlists and comparisons to Gears of War.
With the game now available, Saber Interactive has reassured fans that their feedback is being taken seriously, and a preview of the first update has been shared.
Although there's no official release date for the update, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have confirmed via a Steam post that the "first patch will arrive soon."
The update is expected to include more than just the previewed content, as bug fixes are likely to be a major focus.
However, the initial patch notes will at least address some key player requests, such as adding support for ultrawide monitors, private PvE lobbies, and a sparring area for players to practice their combat moves.
"Please believe us when we say we're reading all of your feedback with great attention,"
The developers stated.
"It takes time because of the number of messages we receive, but we see and hear you."
Beyond the patch, Saber Interactive, Focus Entertainment, and other stakeholders involved in the game’s creation have acknowledged the significance of Space Marine 2 in the broader context of Warhammer 40K games.
According to a press release from PulluP Entertainment
(formerly known as Focus Entertainment Publishing) Space Marine 2 broke the record for the highest number of concurrent players for a Warhammer game, peaking at 225,690 shortly after its launch.
Future updates for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will feature a combination of paid and free content.
The first patch will include the fixes and features mentioned, and players can expect to see full patch notes soon. If you're diving into Space Marine 2 this week, keep an eye out for the update.
