RuneScape is getting its first comic series later this year
Expanding on a fan-favorite God Wars quest line, Since its release in 2001, RuneScape has garnered immense popularity among fantasy gamers, with over 320 million accounts created across PC, Steam, and mobile platforms. The game has already seen expansions into various media forms such as books, graphic novels, coloring books, and a board game. However, fans have always desired more content, and developer Jagex is set to deliver. Following a teaser in Titan's Free Comic Book Day edition last year, Jagex announced a new comic book series titled RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars, with the oversized Issue #1 launching this October.
RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars is written by Ryan O'Sullivan
known for Void Trip, and features artwork by Sid Kotian (Gambit, The Adventures of Apocalypse Al) and Daniel Bayliss (RuneScape FCBD edition). The debut issue will showcase stunning covers from artists including Alan Quah, Ivan Shavrin, Sid Kotian, Alex Moore, and RuneScape's lead concept artist Dave Barker.
This four-part miniseries, published by Titan Comics, continues the collaboration that has previously produced graphic novels, original fiction books, and coloring books, all exploring the RuneScape universe. Set in the medieval fantasy world of Gielinor, both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape offer open-ended adventures filled with diverse races, guilds, and ancient gods, where players encounter unique monsters and quests.
Untold Tales of the God Wars delves into the popular God Wars dungeon quest line
Exploring the Temple of the Lost Ancients during the catastrophic God Wars. The story centers on Maro, who dreams of escaping his master while trapped in the conflict between four warring armies vying for control of the Godsword, the only weapon capable of killing a deity.
The first issue will be available in comic shops on October 9th and can be pre-ordered from the August 2024 edition of Diamond PREVIEWS, and from Forbidden Planet for UK and Europe. Each physical edition will include a special game code for 200 Runecoins.
