WB Games Prioritizes Sequel
Following the massive success of Hogwarts Legacy, WB Games has confirmed that a sequel is in the works. The company is prioritizing the development of Hogwarts Legacy 2, aiming to build upon the popularity of the original game.
This announcement comes after a challenging year for WB Games, with the underperformance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Hogwarts Legacy, on the other hand, proved to be a massive commercial and critical success, becoming the best-selling video game of 2023.
Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Weidenfels highlighted
Hogwarts Legacy as a top priority for the company's future. While he didn't provide specific details about the sequel, he confirmed that it is in development. He also acknowledged the impact of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's underperformance on WB Games.
Given the development time and resources required for AAA games, Hogwarts Legacy 2 is likely to take several years to release. However, with the proven success of the original game, WB Games is expected to invest heavily in the sequel to ensure it surpasses its predecessor.
In the meantime, WB Games has released Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, a multiplayer-focused game centered around the wizarding sport of Quidditch. The game is available on various platforms and can be downloaded for free by PlayStation Plus subscribers.
