Is this just another DLC for the Dying Light series
Or could we be getting a new game? The Dying Light franchise's creator, Techland, may have just dropped a hint about a new chapter in the story.
Ever since Dying Light 2 was published in 2022, Techland has continuously added new material to the game.
But as time has gone on, fans have started to make assumptions about what the developer would do next—whether it will be new projects entirely or more material for Dying Light 2. It appears that we might hear back shortly.
The producer and host Geoff Keighley posted a teaser trailer for a game that will be shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live on social media today. The clip had a strong horror vibe, but it didn't say whose franchise it is a part of or show any gameplay.
"The Beast Is Coming" is how the teaser concludes, enticing viewers to tune in to Opening Night Live on August 20th to learn more.
The link to Dying Light originates from a new Techland trademark application
Which may have accidentally revealed the twist. Techland registered the trademark "Dying Light: The Beast" earlier this month, Fans are left wondering if "The Beast" is new material for Dying Light 2 or a new entry in the Dying Light series as the trademark doesn't explain what "The Beast" is.
While Techland has previously stated that it will provide updates and DLC for Dying Light 2 for a number of years, the trademark implies that "The Beast" is something else entirely, possibly the first spin-off in the Dying Light world.
