Blue Prince Update 1.01 Fixes Save File Issue, Unlock Bugs, and More
The indie darling Blue Prince has quickly generated a lot of buzz in the gaming community following its April 10 launch, quickly rising through the ranks and dethroning even the reigning Split Fiction on Metacritic in terms of scores. But as fans of the game began to take their journeys through the twisted halls of Mount Holly, some encountered a major problem: a critical save data bug. Now, Dogubomb has finally announced the first-ever patch for Blue Prince—and it is already correcting some issues that hindered players far too much.
Blue Prince Patch Notes
1.01 – Save File Bug Fixed In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dogubomb stated that hitting
“New Game” from the main menu could overwrite existing progress – the stuff of nightmares for anyone playing a roguelike"
Patch 1.01 fixes this issue, along with some other minor yet meaningful bug fixes. Note: While the update should be live tonight for PlayStation 5 and Steam players, it will be available tomorrow afternoon for Xbox players.

Fixed bug that sometimes caused new game files to replace old save files after a forced quit
- Temporarily turned off all Backup, Restore, or Duplicate
- Save File options while analyzing the related issues
- Fixed system problem preventing players from unlocking a safe in Shelter
- Fixed bug that altered spawn rate of spawn battery packs
- Adjusted odds of drawing rare outer rooms in drafting.
