Ahead of Gamescom, a new teaser for Death Stranding 2 was revealed
Just before Gamescom 2024, a mystery new character in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach seems to have been teased. Celebrity filmmaker Hideo Kojima is well-known for revealing surprises at Geoff Keighley-hosted events.
Kojima has been showcasing Death Stranding 2 and his mysterious new Xbox project, OD, on Keighley's platforms, including The Game Awards, in recent years. Kojima is making suggestions that Keighley will be hosting Gamescom Opening Night Live tomorrow.
Kojima released a brand-new Death Stranding 2 poster on social media today. The poster features a game character's silhouette with the words "Who Am I?" in the middle.
Kojima has previously hinted at the participation of stars including Elle Fanning, Norman Reedus, and Shioli Kutsuna in the project using similar photos. There is a lot of conjecture over the identity of this new character, and many people are hoping for a complete disclosure at the next event.
It's quite likely that this new Death Stranding 2 character will be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, which begins at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT.
This seems sense considering Kojima and Keighley's past working together, especially since Keighley has previously posted the picture on social media.
It's unclear if Kojima will make a live appearance at Gamescom in Germany. With a 2025 release date anticipated, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is presently being developed for the PlayStation 5.
This is the first of three projects that Kojima Productions is working on. The other two are an Xbox exclusive called OD and a PlayStation partnership tentatively named Physint.
