Yuri Lowenthal Confirms That Marvel's Spider-Man 3 Won't Leave Peter Parker off
Marvel's Spider-Man franchise, developed by Insomniac Games, has gained immense popularity among PlayStation users, etching out characteristic storylines blended with compelling gameplay. With Marvel's Spider-Man 3 under development, many fans wanted an account of Peter Parker's fate after what he went through in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Fortunately, Yuri Lowenthal, voice actor for Parker, reassured everyone that Peter will participate in the action.
Peter Parker's Future in Marvel's Spider-Man 3
Much speculation surrounds Peter's role in this next installment following Marvel's Spider-Man 2, where Peter hints at a step back to allow Miles Morales to protect the city. Lowenthal has confirmed that he is not retiring, and he will have a significant role in Marvel's Spider-Man 3.
"There are very few things I can say about this game, but you have somehow managed to land on the one thing I can tell you, and that is, Yes, Peter is not gone. He'll be in the next game; I promise you that he won't be a couch potato,"
Lowenthal said in an interview with The Direct.
This would imply that Peter Parker will still be active in the game and might just have the same two Spider-Men mechanics played out in the previous game.
What to Expect in Marvel's Spider-Man 3
As of this moment, Marvel's Spider-Man 3 still hasn't been officially introduced, but fans can still expect Insomniac Games to build on the highly acclaimed structure set during Spider-Man 2. As for the ending, it hinted at the appearance of Green Goblin, foreshadowing an intense duel for Peter and Miles. There are also some rumours of how Silk will come in as the third playable character, potentially widening the franchise's scope.
The other point of discussion is that, unlike the titular game, Marvel's Spider-Man, Insomniac Games appears to be busy working on the next entry, as it hasn't released any story DLC yet. While a Venom spin-off was reported, it seems unlikely now, meaning that Spider-Man 3 is the next key project in the pipeline together with Marvel's Wolverine for the studio.
Release Date and Platforms of Marvel's Spider-Man 3
So far, there is no officially mentioned release date for Marvel's Spider-Man 3. However, seeing how Insomniac works through its development cycle, it may be safe to assume that this may be a late-2026 to early-2027 release. It'll be coming to the PS5 first, but a PC version will probably be released later.
